Ren’s works have been exhibited across Australia, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and mainland China, alongside leading international artists.

Her acclaimed Sydney Morning and Flow of Light series—rooted in years of photographing Sydney’s breathtaking sunrises—transform natural light into poetic expressions of energy, hope, and renewal.

Her more recent series, XINYIN LIUNIAN™ (Heart Imprint Through the Years) and Bondi Series, continue this exploration, delving deeper into spiritual energy, light, and cross-cultural connection.

Blending symbolism and surrealism with romantic expressionist techniques, Ren investigates the relationship between humanity and nature, connecting time, space, and the universe through light, shadow, and the dynamic rhythm of energy.

Master of Calligraphy and Contemporary Expression

A master of classical Chinese calligraphy, Ren integrates traditional brushwork with modern media and performance. Her live calligraphy and painting events convey harmony between culture, nature, and spirit, offering audiences a meditative experience that transcends both language and artistic boundaries.

Awards and International Recognition

Ren’s artistic excellence has been recognized through numerous international honors:

• Gold Award, 8th China Calligraphy Lanting Exhibition — for “The Three Realms of Zhuangzi” (2025)

• Silver Prize, Exploring America Through Art International Exhibition, organized by the U.S. Embassy in China (2025)

• International Outstanding Female Artist Award, Hawaii 3rd International Painting Festival (2017)

• Light After Tempest sold for AUD 10,000 at the Mrs. Australia International Charity Gala (2023)

Her achievements have been widely featured in major media outlets across China and Australia, including the Australia Chinese Daily, affirming her prominence as a distinguished Chinese-Australian artist based in Sydney.

Residency and Cultural Engagement

In 2025, Ren completed her artist residency at Bondi Pavilion, creating works inspired by the vision of the universe and the Creator’s wonder. Her practice combines authentic community engagement with a spiritual search for truth and light, ensuring each piece radiates both inner harmony and universal energy.

Ren currently serves as Chairperson of the Asian Pacific Region Arts & Artists Alliance (APRAAA®), promoting artistic excellence and fostering cross-cultural exchange across the Asia-Pacific region.

Locally, she contributes actively to her community—offering live calligraphy performances and cultural blessings at libraries, temples, and civic events. As an Expert Member of the Waverley City Council Multicultural Advisory Committee, she continues to promote cultural understanding through the universal language of art.

Her leadership role as APRAAA® Chairperson has been extensively covered by major Asian media, underscoring her long-standing commitment to artistic standards and cultural development.

Collections and Legacy

Ren’s works are held in major institutional and private collections worldwide, including the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, and are featured in the Directory of Famous Modern and Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artists.

Her art inspires through its balance of spirit, energy, and aesthetic innovation, bridging the philosophical depth of the East with the expressive vitality of the West.

Artistic Vision

In 2012, St. Martha’s Catholic School commissioned Ren to create a series of oil paintings inspired by the Book of Genesis. The centerpiece bears the inscription:

“God saw everything that He had made, and indeed, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31)

This early commission exemplifies her lifelong pursuit of merging spiritual reflection with artistic expression, a defining hallmark of her evolving practice.

Through her paintings and live calligraphy, Jingmin Ren continues to share joy, beauty, and light, inviting audiences to reflect on the unity between humanity and the divine creative force. Her work stands as a bridge between tradition and innovation, philosophy and emotion, and East and West, revealing the boundless energy of creation itself.
